You’ve asked for it, and we planned it – a fabulous three-day trip to Napa Valley with all the trimmings. Visit wineries, enjoy delicious cuisine, experience the Napa Valley Wine Train, stroll through quaint, historic towns and temp your palate with delectable wines. This is one trip you won’t want to miss!
Travel to the world-renowned Napa Valley for a lovely three-day travel experience! We arrive in Napa Valley for wine tasting and lunch at the family-owned V. Sattui Winery, located in the heart of Napa Valley. The winery features more than 60 different wines with dozens of 90+ point-rated wines among its current vintages. Enjoy wine tasting and a lovely lunch underneath ancient Valley Oak trees and tri-level terraces that overlook beautifully manicured gardens and the vineyard. Our next visit is Domaine Chandon Winery, true California pioneers. Founded in 1973 by Moët & Chandon, they incorporate French heritage and an innovative American spirit to create vibrant and sophisticated sparkling wines that you are sure to enjoy. In the late afternoon check into the Ivy Hotel Napa for your two-night stay -- the perfect spot to rest our heads while we explore the Napa Valley. Dinner will be hosted this evening at a lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of the Napa Valley. (L,D)
Enjoy a hosted breakfast before we travel a short distance to the Napa Valley Wine Train, a truly must-see adventure! One of the most distinctive Napa restaurants, the Wine Train offers an authentic, memorable experience that echoes the glory days of train travel, with fine dining service, multiple course meals, Napa Valley scenery and ultimate relaxation aboard exquisitely restored vintage rail cars. This top dining establishment is housed in a museum quality, antique train that runs on 25-¬miles of track in the heart of the Napa Valley. The train itself has two engines, three kitchens on board and a collection of early 20th century Pullman rail cars faithfully restored with Honduran mahogany paneling, brass accents, etched glass partitions and plush armchairs that evoke the spirit of luxury rail travel in the early 1900s. In the afternoon we travel to historic downtown Napa with time to shop and browse the area. We’ll return to our hotel to enjoy dinner on your own, and the remainder of the evening will be yours to enjoy. (B,L)
Breakfast will be hosted before your hotel check out. We travel north up the Napa/Sonoma Valley for one of the most incredible and well-known wineries in the area – the Castello di Amorosa, an authentically styled 13th century Tuscan castle and winery. The castle interior includes 107 rooms on eight levels, a moat, a drawbridge, defensive towers, an interior courtyard, a torture chamber, a chapel/church and a knight’s chamber. We’ll enjoy a wine tasting and tour of this famous castle before traveling to the lovely town of Healdsburg in Sonoma County for a hosted lunch. After lunch, enjoy a stroll, discover world-class shopping, fabulous art and sculpture, independent bookstores, treasure troves of antiques and much more. Following our time in Healdsburg we travel toward home. (B,L)
