We begin our California adventure after a short flight from Reno to Los Angeles. Highlights include Ronald Regan Presidential Library, three-night stay aboard the Queen Mary, art festivals, the Getty Center, Shoreline Village, and of course, Pageant of the Masters – a one-of-a-kind show of “living pictures.”

Day One:
We depart from Reno-Tahoe International Airport and arrive in Los Angeles, where we’ll begin our spectacular southern California adventure. Our first stop will be the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum for our docent-led museum tour. Learn about Regan's presidency and his legacy, view an exact replica of the Oval Office, see a six-ton piece of the Berlin Wall, tour the Reagan Library, Air Force One and more. Lunch will be provided at the museum following our tour. Next we’re off to the Queen Mary, the iconic ocean liner in Long Beach, our home for the next three days. You’re sure to enjoy this historic ship, with its authentic polished-wood paneling, original 1930’s artwork, Art Deco style and operable portholes. There’s no question that the Queen Mary Hotel is unlike any other southern California hotel. Each stateroom is unique with its own personality and offers a real glimpse of what transatlantic travel was like during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. After check in, we’ll enjoy a hosted dinner onboard followed by a guided tour of the ship. (L, D)

Day Two:
Enjoy breakfast before we travel to Laguna Beach, home to the Pageant of the Masters. Our first visit will be the Sawdust Art Festival, featuring fine art and crafts of more than 200 Laguna Beach artists.  Art enthusiasts, collectors and novice artists have come to the Sawdust since 1966 for a mix of fine art and crafts, such as hand-blown and fused glass, painting, jewelry, surf art, ceramics, clothing and textiles, wood and metal sculpture, scrimshaw, photography, and much more. You’ll find plenty of food and refreshments to enjoy lunch on your own. Located just across the street is the Festival of Arts with original art from Orange County’s most talented artists, as well at live entertainment, workshops and more. We’ll enjoy an early dinner at the Tivoli Terrace, located inside the Festival of Arts, and time will be allowed to enjoy the festival before our reserved seating in the outdoor amphitheater at the Pageant of The Masters. The Pageant is the crowning jewel of our trip and arguably one of the most unique productions you’ll ever experience. Enjoy a 90-minute stage show of “living pictures” – incredibly faithful art recreations of classical and contemporary works with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that you’ll want to enjoy at least once in your lifetime!  Following the performance, we return to the Queen Mary for the remainder of the evening. (B, D)

Day Three:
Following breakfast, we depart for the popular Getty Center. The museum is world renowned for its permanent collection, which includes pre-20th century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture and decorative arts; 19th-and 20th-century American, European and Asian photographs; and contemporary and modern sculpture.  With its fine art exhibitions, impressive architecture, lush gardens and spectacular city views, the Getty Center is a must-see destination. Next, we’re off to Shoreline Village across the water from the Queen Mary. You’re sure to enjoy this lovely village located on the water with its specialty shops, boutiques and restaurants. Take time to enjoy a refreshing drink while gazing upon Rainbow Harbor before our hosted dinner. After dinner, we return to the Queen Mary for the remainder of the evening. (B, D)

Day Four:
Prior to check out, we enjoy breakfast onboard the Queen Mary. Time will be allowed for some last-minute shopping before arriving at Los Angeles International Airport for our return flight home.
