Our tour takes us to the historic town of Quincy, CA, rated number eight on the list of America's Coolest Small Towns in 2013 and home to the Plumas County Museum. Enjoy a docent-led tour featuring the history of the area, railroads of Plumas County, gold mining on the Feather River, and the importance of the lumber industry. We’ll also learn about natural history specimens, the Chinese influence, and the historically accurate Andrew Lynch Memorial Garden. We’ll have time to visit the Exhibit Yard to look at some of the equipment used by Plumas pioneers who relied on the area’s natural resources for their livelihood. Next, we’re off to Moon’s Restaurant known for its delectable cuisine, as well as its historical significance.  Built in 1930, this structure was rumored to be a brothel or speakeasy and is recognized for its fresh garlic bread and Italian home-cooked meals. As we head back to Reno in the afternoon, we’ll take a drive down the all-weather Scenic Byway – State Route 70 – where cottonwoods and domestic maples grace the highway and banks of the Feather River.
