Bodie State Historic Park - Saturday, August 22, 2015

6/2/2015

Picture
$119 per passenger

We’ll take a step back in time as we travel to Bodie State Historic Park. Once a thriving California gold-mining community, with a population of nearly 10,000 people, this deserted ghost town is now empty and eerily awaits its next visitors. A picnic lunch will be provided before our visit.

Have you ever wanted to visit a real-life setting of the California gold rush? Then join us as we mosey on back to the old west – on a comfortable motorcoach, not a stage coach – to Bodie State Historic Park. From 1877 to 1888, Bodie was a thriving California gold-mining community with a population of nearly 10,000 residents. It produced more than $35 million in gold and silver. Today, this deserted ghost town’s 170 wooden buildings stand eerily empty, ready to photograph and explore. Buildings and interiors remain as they were, stocked with goods and furnishings. Visit the original stamp mill, school house, visitors’ center and more. A picnic lunch will be provided before our visit. Bodie is located at an elevation of 8,375 feet and is located in the Eastern Sierra close to Bridgeport, June Lake, Lee Vining, Mono Lake and Yosemite.
